Best Month Ever

About 15 minutes ago, this fine blog’s page views for July passed the best month ever – 9549 – and right now the count stands at 9570. We passed the mark for most unique visitors in a month two days ago – we’re at 2605 as compared to the prior best of 2265.

All this and it’s July 16. We still have half the month to go. Y’all rock. You keep reading and I’ll keep writing.

One Day, 1,000 Page Views

Not a bad day at the office. As of this moment, Maryland Scramble has had another record-shattering day. Last Wednesday, we hit 925 page views and 326 unique visitors. Thursday was 806. Yesterday (Monday) was 737, with a new record of 346 visitors.

Today blew all that away. As of right now, we’re at 425 unique visitors and 1,007 page views, our first ever four digit day. Drop the balloons and confetti. Well done, ladies and gentlemen.

More Blog Numbers

Up until recently, I wasn’t doing a very good job measuring readership. If you were a subscriber, you got an email of each post and could read the whole thing without it registering as a page view or a visitor. Dozens of people would tell me “I read your blog all the time” – but I wasn’t capturing it.

So now you get an email and a few lines, and then a “click here to read more.” Um, y’all weren’t lying – there’s a whole hell of a lot of clicking going on. And in addition, the audience is clearly growing.

Before the past week, the best weekly page views I’d had was 2,633. More typical was around 2,000, sometimes a little more, sometimes less. This week, even with a holiday, saw 3,441 page views, a 30.7% increase over the prior peak. The highest number of unique visitors in a week had been 737. Typically it was between 600-700. Last week, it was 1,035, a 40.4% jump.

Bottom line – more and more of you are reading, I’m getting a more accurate picture of how many of you there are and what gets your attention, and there’s a lot of fun being had by all concerned.

Kind of really cool, in my opinion.

Another Busy Day

The numbers aren’t quite as big as yesterday, but for the second day in a row, y’all are hungry for political scoop, surpassing the old March record once again. I’ll try to have good stuff for you over the weekend, but it IS a holidays weekend, so I don’t know if the news cycle will cooperate.

Maybe some pictures from the Takoma Park parade on Saturday? Be good and I’ll see what I can do.

Busiest Day Ever

Today saw by far and away the most traffic this nefarious establishment of ill repute has seen since its founding. The prior record was the day I first connected with Facebook back in March. Today’s page view traffic is almost 20% more than the old standard, and the increase in the number of unique visitors is up by over 30%. Thanks to all the eager readers out there – I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do putting it out there.

Added bonus – another 50 page views or so, and we go over 30,000. We can do that in half an hour, can’t we?

300 Posts

Yesterday’s post, Substance Free Journalism, was the 300th in the 69 days of this establishment’s still infant existence. This one is #310. Hope you like reading them as much as I like writing them.

Either today or tomorrow, we’ll go over 20,000 page views. It’s Milestone Week here at Maryland Scramble.

5000

Within the past few minutes, this blog reached 5,000 unique visitors in the little over two months of its existence. Not too shabby, boys and girls. What say we go for 10?
